PEEK™ Polymer Tubing

Biocompatible, inert and easy to cut
 Great for high-pressure applications
Wide choice of outer and inner diameters
Many sizes color-coded for easier inner diameter identification
Upchurch Scientific PEEK (polyetheretherketone) tubing is biocompatible, chemically inert and can be used in place of stainless steel tubing in most liquid analytical systems. Additionally, when the outer diameter is smaller than 1/16, PEEK tubing can be used in place of more traditional fused silica capillary tubing.
Generally speaking, PEEK tubing can be used with stainless steel nuts and ferrules, flangeless fittings, Super Flangeless fittings, or any Upchurch Scientific-brand universal Fingertight fitting.
PEEK tubing is commonly offered in 5-foot sections; however, most sizes are also available in 50-foot (part numbers followed by L) or 100-foot (part numbers followed by XL) sections. Additionally, many of the capillary tubing sizes are offered in 12-inch pre-cut lengths (part numbers followed by -12X).
Common Uses for Available Tubing Sizes
360 m OD is the most commonly used tubing size for capillary LC and related applications ; (PEEK post-column transfer lines have been found to improve performance in LC-MS applications by reducing peak tailing and eliminating peak symmetry degradation. For more information, request a repint of the article: Improved LC-MS Results Study: Fused Silica vs. PEEK Tubing from our literature-request page.)
.020 OD offers increased wall thickness and stiffness when compared with the 360 m offerings
1/32 OD is the most commonly used tubing size for microbore LC and is also used as the direct-connect tubing for several of the newest Rheodyne-brand high pressure valves
1/16 OD is the most commonly used tubing size for standard, analytical LC and related techniques, often found between throughout the system between the outlet of the pump and the inlet of the detector
1.8 mm and 2.0 mm OD are commonly found sizes in equipment manufactured outside of the United States
1/8 OD is popular for semi-preparative applications or for solvent delivery to the pump where the solvent is sensitive to gas intrusion through the flow path tubing wall

General information on PEEK:

In addition to our pre-cut lengths sold individually, IDEX Health & Science also offers convenient kits, each featuring a collection of some our most popular PEEK tubing sizes; specific kit contents can be viewed by clicking on the magnifying glass below.< br>

Upchurch Scientific PEEK tubing is extruded at our facilities to exacting tolerances. The Total Indicator Runout (TIR) a measure of concentricity is a mere .003" or better. We also guarantee some of the tightest tolerances available in the industry:

 Our 360 m and 1/32 OD tubing offer ID/OD tolerances of .0005
Our .020 and 1/16 OD tubing is manufactured with ID/OD tolerances of .001
Our 1.8 mm and 2.0 mm OD tubing is manufactured with ID/OD tolerances of .001/ .002, respectively
Our 1/8 OD tubing offers an ID/OD tolerance of .003

This tubing is flexible and can be cut to desired length with a razor blade or better yet with one of our tubing cutters (A-327 for 1/16 and 1/8 OD tubing, A-350 for tubing with an OD smaller than 1/16). Just a quick cut and it's ready to use no reaming, no filing!

The most common IDs are color-coded for easy identification.

In the "Compare Specs" we list the various pressure ratings; please note that using a heat gun or over-heating can weaken your tubing, resulting in a lower pressure rating than listed.
