The explosion protected three-phase marine motors type EExd-SMOB… are hazardous duty “Flameproof Protection“ and the terminal box hazardous duty “Increased Safty“. The motors are according the European Standards EN 60079-0, EN 60079-1 and EN 60079-7. The motors are certified for the explosion group IIB and the temperature class T4. The temperature class T4 cover the lower temperature classes. The motors have a type-examination certificate from the federal laboratory “Physikalisch-Technischen Bundesanstalt (PTB)“ according the Directive 2014/34/EU.

The motor with degree of protection IP 56 are without fan and fan cover.

Inside the flameproof protection of the motor a single discspring-loaded brake is integrated and part of certification. Control must be by the built in microswitch for air gab monitoring to prevent the motor starting with the broke applied.

The flameproof marine motors are specially designed to be used for the following maritime applications

• Crane hoist
• Anchor winches
• Mooring winches

Additional to the type of double or three-speed polchanging motors a version as single-speed motor with speed control for frepuency converter operting is available.

For the temperature protection must be used thermistors (PTC) in the motor winding.

Optional anti-condensation heaters in the motor winding are available to prevent the formation of condensation and moisture inside the motor.

The motors have a see-water resistant painting and marine cable glands certified to the Directive 2014/34/EU.
