Connecting Rigid Tubing to a Syringe
With the demand for lower and lower flow rates, one popular choice for a pump to control fluid flow at low flow rates is a syringe pump. Often, the challenge is connecting a standard, luer-tipped syringe to rigid tubing (e.g., FEP, PEEK, Stainless Steel, etc.). However, using one of our Quick Connect Luer Adapters like the P-659 along with one of our Fingertight fittings for 1/16" OD tubing, a robust connection between your flow path tubing and your syringe can be easily made.
Creating a Quick Release Inline Connection
In many laboratories and especially in today economy there is a need to increase the usability of the existing equipment. Often this means that multiple assays will be run utilizing the same system equipment, and each change in assay often requires a change in mobile phase composition. To help make solvent changeover less of a hassle, try placing a matching Quick Connect Luer Adapter pair inline along each solvent path.
For example, if your system is a binary gradient system, you could attach one of our P-658 to a short length of tubing connected to each pump head, using our Flangeless fittings. Then, you could attach one of our P-655 (again using our Flangeless fittings) to a longer tubing line extending into the various solvent reservoirs your lab needs to use. This makes disconnecting one reservoir and re-connecting a new reservoir fast and easy. (Alternatively, you could consider using our Quick-Stop Luer Check Valve to help ensure solvent spillage during reservoir changeover is minimized.)
