Low Pressure Unions

-28 and M6x1 threaded versions available
Compatible with tubing up to 1/8" OD
Available manufactured from a variety of materials
Upchurch Scientific Low Pressure Unions provide numerous options for bringing two fittings with either a -28 flat-bottom threading or a M6x1 flat-bottom threading.
We use several polymers to manufacture our line of Low Pressure Unions: Delrin, Kel-F (PCTFE), PEEK polymer, polypropylene and Tefzel (ETFE). Each material is biocompatible, durable, and each offers good chemical inertness. (For more information, visit the Chemical Compatibility section of our main web site.)
Several of the unions in this family of products are pre-packaged with fittings that have been chosen to be useful for a majority of the applications. However, on occasion, people prefer to work with different fittings than the ones typically packaged with some of our unions. For those instances, look for the part numbers that end in a -01, which signifies the union body without the fittings typically packaged with it. Then, simply order the correct quantity of the fittings or adapters you would like to use with the union. (Please Note: If the union you are interested in purchasing does not typically get packaged with fittings, then you can simply order the standard union part number. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us directly.)
In addition to our standard, internally-threaded unions, we also offer three alternative unions a male-to-male, -28 threaded union (P/N P-645), and two elbow unions (P/Ns P-430 and P-432).
The most common use for our unions is to bring two pieces of tubing together. However, there are times when you might want to use the union with a threaded adapter for instance, to join a soft, flexible tube to a rigid tube or to connect a syringe to a piece of tubing. NOTE: Delrin is not suitable for use with or around acids, bases or oxidizing agents. (We have found even the fumes from these solvents can weaken products made from Delrin). For better chemical compatibility, select from one of our other options manufactured from PEEK, polypropylene or Tefzel.
